Welcome to the Ling WANG Research Lab
The WANG Lab of Bioinspired Soft Materials was started by Prof. Ling WANG when he officially joined Tianjin University in 2018. Dr. Ling WANG is a full professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering of Tianjin University. He was an awardee of National Outstanding Young Talents and distinguished professor of PEIYANG Young Scholars of Tianjin University. He received his PhD degree of Materials Science from University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2013. Prior to joining Tianjin University, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute of Kent State University (USA), and Senior Research Fellow at the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering of Texas A&M University (USA).
Our research interest focuses on design, synthesis and properties of smart soft materials, bioinspired materials and functional nanomaterials, as well as their emerging applications in diverse fields ranging from soft robotics, adaptive camouflage, additive manufacturing to energy and safety issues. The aim of The WANG Lab is to better understand the relationship between structure, properties and applications of advanced smart materials, answering fundamental questions towards practical applications.
